Melissa Vásquez Reyes – Biography

Melissa Vasquez received her Juris Doctor in Law with a specialty in Business Law from the Universidad Centroamericana de Honduras (CEUTEC) in Tegucigalpa on September 20th, 2011. Throughout her years as a student, she worked for private law firms as a Legal Assistant and Paralegal aiding the Attorneys in corporate matters, judicial investigations, drafting of contracts, labor issues, and patents.

Following her graduation, she obtained her experience working in the private sector initially through Law Firms where she was as a Junior Associate and where she mainly worked overseeing corporate and business issues, tax matters, mergers and acquisitions, Power Purchase Agreements and State Matters, and labor issues. Inspired by her Graduation Thesis on Honduran Taxes and its Corporate Complications, she later obtained her Master´s Degree in Tax Law from the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha on June 12, 2013, where she specialized in Revenue Taxes.

After several years working in law firms, she decided to use her experience in the Electric Energy Sector and accepted a full time independent Contractor job with a renewable energy company using Hydroelectric energy stationed in Choluteca where she served as an Independent Contractor for the Legal Department counseling on land issues and registries; drafting and revision of all types of contracts; immigration and residencies to Honduras; Loans, warranties and other Banking affairs for the project; and labor law.

Upon finishing her Contract, she later continued to work as an Independent Contractor for a group of companies involved in the Energy Sector, Construction, and Hotel Industry where she served as the Head of the Legal Department and counseled on all areas of her experience. Time during which she met her Business Partner and decided to open their own law firm together to better use their experience and serve a wider clientele. Through CORPORATIO LEX HONDURAS | PRAEDIUM LEDX HONDURAS, Melissa has appeared before courts across Honduras with an unparalleled success ratio and has served her clients in all their matters exceeding expectations.

Outside of work, Melissa loves doing yoga and has obtained a Yoga Teachers Certificate from Yogaworks in Santa Monica, California, USA, and she loves to spend time with her family and loved ones who live in various different areas and countries ranging from Honduras, to Nicaragua, and all over the USA, as a result cherishing each moment she gets to spend with them.
